The Fighter Spirit

Throughout her life, Annie holds a keen interest in sports activities. She embodies and cultivates a love of dance from ballet lessons since her early childhood. She enjoys ballet so much that her passion and commitment in ballet brought her to become a qualified ballet teacher within few years’ time. During her school days, she was a competition swimmer representing Johor state. Born with a strong fighter spirit in her, she has won over 100 medals in swimming championship and attained international swimming coach certification. Her journey in sports achievement continued towards her adult life. She took up latin dance lessons in 2015 and within 3 years’ time, she has won over 82 Gold medals. Her talent coupled with her persistency in dance practice has made her a great dancer as she was crowned the winner of solo latin championship in Asia.

Being a sports competitor, it is the strong spirit of sportsmanship that she developed from young, as she consistently strives for greater achievement, with discipline and grit, that made the key element for her business success.

Annie’s Entrepreneurial Adventure

Adventurous at heart, Annie is one who always challenge herself to explore beyond her limits and never give up on her endeavour.

At the age of 17, Annie started her first job in her family business Star Light Flag Trading Sdn. Bhd. Despite having no prior working experience, she was fast to see the growth opportunity for the local business after 2 years of working in the company. Very soon, she took on the adventure to grow the locally based family business for nationwide expansion. She tailor-made her very first blazer and embarked on the journey up north to cold call on approach potential customers in Kuala Lumpur, all by herself at the age of 19. Even without the convenience of google map or waze at that point of time, she was strongly determined to navigate around the unfamiliar roads outstation using only hard copy map. Her go-getter personality pushed her through hours after hours of waiting at customers’ site for pitching opportunity, after which, most of them has become some of her longest-standing customers till today. In the era of less advanced digital connectivity, she took the bold attempt and stepped foot in China for business dealings on her own. Her early venture into China has rewarded her with solid business relationships in China over the past decade.

From a home-based business to shop-based business, Star Light Flag Trading has grown into a factory business serving nationwide customers, institutions and royal families under her visionary corporate management over the years.
